Eric Murdock was born on June 14, 1968, in Somerville, New Jersey. He attended Providence College, where he played college basketball for the Friars. Murdock was selected by the Utah Jazz in the first round of the 1991 NBA draft. He played for the Jazz for one season before playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, Vancouver Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, and New Jersey Nets during his NBA career. After retiring from basketball, Murdock became a coach and is currently an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies.
