Philadelphia 76ers Jerseys – Every Player, Every Era, Every Number

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the oldest and most historic franchises in professional basketball. The franchise was founded in 1946 as the Syracuse Nationals. In 1963, the team relocated to Philadelphia and became the Philadelphia 76ers, the name it has used ever since.

The franchise therefore has two major historical identities: the Syracuse Nationals and the Philadelphia 76ers. Although the team changed cities and names in 1963, the NBA recognizes them as the same franchise, and the history of the Syracuse Nationals is an important part of 76ers history.

The franchise has won 3 NBA Championships, with titles in 1955, 1967, and 1983. The first championship came in 1955 when the team was known as the Syracuse Nationals. Philadelphia then won championships in 1967 and 1983.

The 1967 championship team is remembered as one of the greatest teams in NBA history. Led by Wilt Chamberlain, Hal Greer, Billy Cunningham, Chet Walker and Luke Jackson, the 76ers finished the regular season 68-13 and defeated the San Francisco Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Philadelphia's third championship came in 1983, when Moses Malone, Julius Erving, Maurice Cheeks, Bobby Jones and Andrew Toney led the 76ers to the NBA title. Malone famously predicted a "Fo', fo', fo'" postseason, and Philadelphia went 12-1 in the playoffs.

The franchise has been home to generations of legendary players, including Dolph Schayes, Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, Allen Iverson and many other stars who helped define different eras of Philadelphia basketball.

Retired Numbers

The Philadelphia 76ers have officially retired the jersey numbers of 10 legendary players whose contributions left a permanent mark on the franchise:

  • #2 – Moses Malone
  • #3 – Allen Iverson
  • #4 – Dolph Schayes
  • #6 – Julius Erving
  • #10 – Maurice Cheeks
  • #13 – Wilt Chamberlain
  • #15 – Hal Greer
  • #24 – Bobby Jones
  • #32 – Billy Cunningham
  • #34 – Charles Barkley

These retired numbers represent nearly every major era of the franchise. Dolph Schayes and Hal Greer were major stars of the Syracuse Nationals and early Philadelphia years. Wilt Chamberlain and Billy Cunningham became central figures of the legendary 1967 championship team.

The 1983 championship era was led by Moses Malone, Julius Erving, Maurice Cheeks and Bobby Jones. Later generations were defined by players such as Charles Barkley and, especially, Allen Iverson, who became the face of the franchise during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Honored 76ers Figure

The 76ers have also honored legendary broadcaster Dave Zinkoff, who served as the voice of the Syracuse Nationals and Philadelphia 76ers for more than two decades. His name is recognized by the organization alongside the franchise's retired numbers, although he was a broadcaster rather than a player.

From the original Syracuse Nationals, through the move to Philadelphia and the championship eras of Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Allen Iverson, countless players have helped build the history of this franchise. Every generation has produced stars, role players, fan favorites and players whose contributions helped shape the team.

Every player has a story, and no player should ever be forgotten.

This collection celebrates the complete history of the Philadelphia 76ers franchise, including its years as the Syracuse Nationals. From the franchise's first championship in 1955 to the legendary 1967 and 1983 title teams and the generations that followed, every era deserves to be remembered.

Whether you are searching for the jersey of an NBA champion, a Hall of Fame legend, a 76ers icon, an All-Star, a fan favorite, a role player, or a player whose time with the franchise has largely been forgotten, you can find his Philadelphia 76ers jersey here.

We believe that every player who wore the Nationals or 76ers uniform became part of the franchise's story. The biggest stars may receive the most attention, but a team's history is built by everyone who wore the jersey.

Every number. Every era. Every player. Never forgotten.
