Honor the legacy of Denver Nuggets legend Dikembe Mutombo with this iconic Denver Nuggets #55 jersey. This legendary number is forever associated with one of the greatest defensive players in NBA history. Mutombo wore #55 from 1992 through 1996 after being selected fourth overall by Denver in the 1991 NBA Draft. During his five seasons with the Nuggets, he became a defensive anchor, earning three NBA All-Star selections and winning the 1995 NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. He delivered one of the most memorable moments in franchise history during the 1994 playoffs, when the eighth-seeded Nuggets defeated the top-seeded Seattle SuperSonics. A Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, Mutombo's #55 jersey was officially retired by the Denver Nuggets on October 29, 2016, permanently honoring his impact on the franchise.
