Tom Kozelko was born on October 12, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Temple University, where he played college basketball for the Owls. Kozelko was selected by the Philadelphia Warriors in the second round of the 1959 NBA draft. He played for the Warriors for one season before being traded to the Syracuse Nationals, which later became the Philadelphia 76ers. Kozelko played for the 76ers for four seasons before retiring from basketball in 1964. After retiring, Kozelko worked as a teacher and coach.
