Wayne Hightower was a former NBA power forward who played for seven seasons from 1962 to 1969. He was born on December 28, 1940, in Memphis, Tennessee, and played college basketball at Kansas State University. Hightower was selected by the San Francisco Warriors in the first round of the 1962 NBA draft. Hightower played for the Warriors, St. Louis Hawks, and Seattle SuperSonics during his NBA career. He was known for his toughness and rebounding abilities. In 484 NBA games, Hightower averaged 11.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He retired from professional basketball in 1969.
