Robert Covington is an American professional basketball player who was born on December 14, 1990. He played college basketball at Tennessee State University before going undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft. Covington then played for several teams in the NBA G League before signing with the Houston Rockets in 2014. He played for the Rockets for four seasons before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2018. Covington played for the 76ers for two seasons before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2018. He then played for the Timberwolves and the Houston Rockets before being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021. In his NBA career, Covington is known for his defensive skills and has been named to the NBA All-Defensive Team twice.
