Rod Thorn is a retired basketball player, coach, and executive who is currently the president of basketball operations for the Milwaukee Bucks. He was born on May 23, 1941, in West Virginia and attended West Virginia University, where he played college basketball. After college, Thorn was selected by the Baltimore Bullets in the 1963 NBA draft. He played for the Bullets, the Detroit Pistons, and the St. Louis Hawks during his NBA career. Thorn was known for his scoring and playmaking ability and was a one-time NBA All-Star. After retiring from professional basketball, Thorn worked as a coach for several teams, including the Chicago Bulls, the New Jersey Nets, and the Philadelphia 76ers. He also served as the president of basketball operations for the Nets and the NBA's executive vice president of basketball operations.
