Purvis Short was a small forward who played for the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and New Jersey Nets during his NBA career. He was drafted by the Warriors in the first round of the 1978 NBA Draft. Short had a successful career in the NBA, averaging 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He was named an NBA All-Star in 1984.
