John Wallace was born on February 9, 1974, in Rochester, New York. He attended Greece Athena High School, where he became a standout basketball player. After graduating, he attended Syracuse University, where he played for the men's basketball team. In 1996, he was selected by the New York Knicks in the first round of the NBA draft, and he played for the team for two seasons. He also played for the Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, and Phoenix Suns during his NBA career. After retiring from basketball, Wallace pursued a career in coaching and is currently an assistant coach at his alma mater, Syracuse University.
