Indiana Pacers #22 Chris Copeland was born on March 17, 1984, in Orange, New Jersey. Copeland was a standout basketball player at Orange High School, where he helped lead his team to the New Jersey state championship in his senior year. After high school, he attended the University of Colorado, where he played four seasons of college basketball. Copeland went undrafted in the 2006 NBA draft, but he continued to work hard and hone his skills in the NBA Development League and overseas in various professional leagues. He finally got his chance in the NBA in 2012, when he signed with the New York Knicks. Copeland played two seasons with the Knicks before signing with the Indiana Pacers in 2014. Copeland's NBA career was cut short due to a serious assault he suffered in 2015, but he remains active in the basketball world as a coach and mentor.
