John Roche was born on November 26, 1949, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He grew up playing basketball and attended the University of South Carolina, where he played college basketball for three seasons. Roche was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 1972 NBA Draft. He played for several teams throughout his NBA career, including the Suns, the Denver Nuggets, and the San Antonio Spurs. Roche was known for his scoring ability and was a two-time ABA All-Star. After retiring from professional basketball, Roche went on to become a successful lawyer and businessman.
