Cory Alexander was born on June 22, 1973, in Waynesboro, Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia, where he played college basketball for the Cavaliers. Alexander was selected by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the 1995 NBA draft. He played for the Spurs for two seasons before being traded to the Denver Nuggets. Alexander also played for the Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, and Charlotte Hornets during his NBA career. After retiring from basketball, Alexander became a college basketball analyst and commentator for ESPN and ACC Network.
