Jamaal Wilkes was born on May 2, 1953, in Berkeley, California. He grew up playing basketball and attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he played college basketball for three seasons. Wilkes was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the 1974 NBA Draft. He played for several teams throughout his NBA career, including the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. Wilkes was known for his smooth shooting stroke and all-around offensive game, and he was a key member of several championship teams. He retired from the NBA in 1985.
