Jerry Chambers, wearing #40 for the Los Angeles Lakers, was a former NBA player who was born on July 18, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He played college basketball at Utah before being selected by the Lakers in the first round of the 1966 NBA Draft. Chambers played for several NBA teams during his career, including the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, and Buffalo Braves, among others. He was known for his scoring ability, and he averaged 14.3 points per game over the course of his career. Chambers passed away on October 4, 2017, at the age of 74.
