Bill McGill, also known as "The Hill," was a power forward who played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Zephyrs during the 1960s. McGill was known for his scoring ability and was drafted first overall in the 1962 NBA Draft, ahead of future Hall of Famers such as Walt Bellamy and John Havlicek. However, McGill's career was marred by injuries and he never lived up to his potential. After retiring from basketball, he worked as a teacher and later became an evangelist. After his professional career, he played for the Harlem Globetrotters and eventually became a coach.
