Whitey Kachan is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the NBA from 1948 to 1951. He played for the Minneapolis Lakers during his brief NBA career, and was known for his shooting ability and his tenacity on the court. Kachan played college basketball at the University of Denver before being drafted by the Lakers in 1948. After retiring from basketball, Kachan went on to work in the insurance industry.
