Nick Mantis was an American professional basketball player who was born on August 4, 1929, and died on May 12, 2008. He played college basketball at Northwestern University before being drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers in the 1951 NBA draft. Mantis played for the Lakers for two seasons before being traded to the Milwaukee Hawks in 1953. He then played for the Baltimore Bullets and the Fort Wayne Pistons before retiring in 1958. In his six-year career, Mantis played in 342 games, averaging 7.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.
