Jerry Lucas is a former professional basketball player who played for several teams in the NBA. He was born on March 30, 1940, in Ohio and attended Ohio State University, where he played college basketball. Lucas was known for his rebounding and scoring ability, and he was a two-time NCAA champion with Ohio State in 1960 and 1961. After college, Lucas was selected by the Cincinnati Royals in the first round of the 1962 NBA draft. He played for the Royals, the San Francisco Warriors, the New York Knicks, and the Washington Bullets during his NBA career. Lucas was a seven-time NBA All-Star and helped the Knicks win the NBA championship in 1973. After retiring from professional basketball, Lucas went on to have a successful career as a businessman and motivational speaker.
