Whitey Bell was an American professional basketball player who played for the New York Knicks in the early 1950s. He was born in 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, and attended St. John's University. Bell was a guard and played for the Knicks for two seasons from 1951-1953. During his time with the team, he played in a total of 123 games and averaged 4.4 points per game. After his stint with the Knicks, Bell went on to play for a few other teams in various professional leagues before retiring in the late 1950s.
