John Starks was a professional basketball player from the United States, born on August 10, 1965. He played college basketball at Oklahoma State University before playing in the Continental Basketball Association and overseas leagues. Starks entered the NBA in 1988, joining the Golden State Warriors. However, he is best known for his time with the New York Knicks, where he played from 1990 to 1998. Starks was known for his scoring ability and tenacity on defense, and he helped lead the Knicks to the NBA Finals in 1994. He finished his NBA career with the Utah Jazz and the Chicago Bulls before retiring in 2002.
