Kelly Tripucka is a retired American professional basketball player. Born on February 16, 1959, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, Tripucka attended the University of Notre Dame before playing professionally. Tripucka began his professional basketball career in 1981 when he was selected 12th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Draft. He spent five seasons with the Pistons before being traded to the Utah Jazz in 1986. Tripucka went on to play for several teams during his career, including the Charlotte Hornets and the Boston Celtics. Tripucka was known for his shooting ability and was a two-time NBA All-Star.
