Bill Willoughby is a former professional basketball player who played for several teams in the NBA. He was born on June 20, 1957, in New Jersey and attended Dwight Morrow High School, where he played basketball. Willoughby was known for his athleticism and played both small forward and power forward positions. He was selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the 1975 NBA draft and played for the Hawks, the Buffalo Braves, the Houston Rockets, the New Jersey Nets, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Denver Nuggets during his NBA career. Willoughby was the second player ever to be drafted directly from high school, after Moses Malone. After retiring from professional basketball, Willoughby worked as a coach and mentor for young players.
