Tom Boswell was an American professional basketball player who played for the Boston Celtics for three seasons between 1975-1978. He was born in Arkansas in 1952 and went on to play college basketball at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Boswell was selected by the Celtics in the third round of the 1974 NBA draft. During his NBA career, Boswell played as a small forward and shooting guard. He played in a total of 142 games for the Celtics, averaging 4.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. Boswell was known for his tough defense and his ability to shoot from the perimeter. His best season came in 1976-1977 when he averaged 6.5 points per game. After his NBA career, Boswell went on to play professionally overseas in Israel and Italy. He then returned to the United States and worked as a high school basketball coach in Arkansas.
