Johnny Jones is a former NBA player who played for the Boston Celtics from 1967 to 1972. Jones was born on August 10, 1945, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He played college basketball at the University of Arkansas, where he was an All-American in 1966. Jones was drafted by the Celtics in the second round of the 1967 NBA draft. During his five seasons with the Celtics, he played primarily as a reserve, averaging 4.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. After retiring from the NBA, Jones became a successful high school basketball coach in Louisiana, where he won several state championships.
