John Janisch was an American professional basketball player, born on July 1, 1927. He played college basketball at Loyola University Chicago before being drafted by the Boston Celtics in the 1950 NBA Draft. Janisch played for the Celtics for two seasons before being traded to the Fort Wayne Pistons in 1952. He played for several teams during his NBA career, including the Pistons, the Milwaukee Hawks, and the Baltimore Bullets. Janisch was known for his rebounding and defense, and he was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 1955. He retired from the NBA in 1958 and passed away on July 12, 2002, at the age of 75.
