Jerry Kelly was a professional basketball player who played in the NBA. He was born on October 22, 1947, in Texas and attended Southern Illinois University, where he played college basketball. After college, Kelly was selected by the Boston Celtics in the fourth round of the 1970 NBA draft. He played for the Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers during his NBA career. Kelly was a shooting guard known for his scoring ability and was a key contributor to the Celtics during the 1971-72 season, when they won the NBA championship. After retiring from professional basketball, Kelly worked as a teacher and coach in Illinois.
