Billy Cunningham is a retired basketball player and coach who is currently a television analyst for the Philadelphia 76ers. He was born on June 3, 1943, in New York and attended the University of North Carolina, where he played college basketball. After college, Cunningham was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1965 NBA draft. He played for the 76ers and the Carolina Cougars of the ABA during his professional career. Cunningham was known for his scoring and rebounding ability and was a four-time NBA All-Star and one-time ABA All-Star. After retiring from professional basketball, Cunningham worked as a coach for the 76ers and the Charlotte Hornets. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1986.
