Pete Maravich is a special part of the franchise's history because he played primarily for the New Orleans Jazz before the move to Utah. He spent five seasons with the franchise in New Orleans and also appeared in 17 games after the move to Utah during the 1979-80 season.

The Utah era was later defined by Adrian Dantley, Darrell Griffith, Mark Eaton, John Stockton, Karl Malone and Jeff Hornacek. Stockton and Malone became one of the greatest duos in NBA history, leading Utah to consecutive NBA Finals appearances in 1997 and 1998.

John Stockton spent his entire 19-season NBA career with the Jazz and remains the NBA's all-time leader in assists and steals. Karl Malone also spent the majority of his career in Utah and became one of the greatest scorers and power forwards in NBA history.

Other Honored Jazz Figures

The Jazz have also honored several important non-player figures whose contributions helped shape the franchise. Legendary head coach Jerry Sloan is honored by the organization, as is former head coach Frank Layden. Longtime owner Larry H. Miller and legendary broadcaster Rod Hundley are also recognized in the franchise's retired-number and honors tradition.
